Plot[edit]
Reg (Damon Herriman) and Lindsay (Angus Sampson) Morgan own and operate a small blood and bone fertilizer business in country South Australia. While making local deliveries (and the occasional roadkill pick up), Reg encounters the crash site of a van, the driver dead inside. Reg recovers the body from the crash and puts it in the back of his own truck. Making his way back to the brothers' plant, Reg is delayed again. This time, three tourists; Sophie (Anna McGahan), Wes (Jamie Kristian), Sophie's lover, and James (Oliver Ackland), Sophie's "official" boyfriend, are stuck on the side of the road. Reg takes an instant attraction to Sophie, and, against his better judgement, allows the three to ride with him.
Wes and James ride in the back of the truck (with the hidden corpse) and Sophie rides up front with Reg. Sophie gets to know Reg, while Wes discuss James' plans to marry Sophie. The pair soon discover the body and fear for their lives. Sophie starts to find things in common with Reg, but Reg's anxiety starts to get the better of him. This unnerves Sophie and as soon as the truck arrives at the plant, Reg detains her. Lindsay arrives, questions Reg about the plan, berating him, but ultimately seeing Reg's plan to turn the travelers and the dead driver into fertilizer. It is revealed that the pair have committed murders in the past. In order to create a new formula for their fertilizer, the pair murdered a group of charity volunteers, ground their corpses and sold the product to local farmers.
Wes and James are soon detained with Sophie and the trio watch as Reg and Lindsay grind the driver. Reg has second thoughts half way through and tries to save the remains of the corpse to no avail. Wes escapes, cutting himself loose. Lindsay hunts him down and leaves Reg to look after the other two. Seeing her chance, Sophie tries to seduce Reg, much to James' chagrin. Reg catches on to the ruse and exposes Sophie's infidelity with Wes, further angering James. Lindsay soon returns with Wes (accumulating the body of the local police officer (John Jarratt) along the way). Reg now begins to have serious second thoughts about the pair's actions and Lindsay detains him with Wes, cutting off Wes' hand in the process.
Among the blood, gore and kidnapping, Nancy, the Morgans "aunt" arrives and distracts Lindsay. Wes and Reg escape and immediately free Sophie and James, and the trio apparently escape. Reg confronts Lindsay, but in a fit of rage, Lindsay kills Nancy and Wes (who had been looking for his hand) and ties up Reg. As he prepares Reg for grinding, Sophie returns, distracts Lindsay and Reg is able to pull him in to the grinder, killing him. Sophie and Reg share a moment attraction.
In a post credits scene, James is still running from the plant and is hit and killed by a reckless driver.

Production[edit]
Producer Julie Ryan met the Cairnes brothers at the Australian Film Commission's IndiVision Lab in 2008, and her company Cyan Films, became attached to the project just prior to the Cairnes brothers winning the Horror-Thriller category for scriptwriting at the 2010 Slamdance Writing Competition. The film was funded by Screen Australia, South Australian Film Corporation, Film Victoria and the Melbourne International Film Festival Premiere Fund.[3] In January 2012, production for the film started in Adelaide, South Australia.[4] The film premiered at the Melbourne International Film Festival in August 2012 and received favorable reviews from Variety and Twitch.[5][6] It was then in Official Selection at the 2013 Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival,[7] and released in the US June 28, 2013 to rave reviews with Matt Zoller Seitz of rogerebert.com saying "the best low-budget horror comedy since "Shaun of the Dead," and one of the most assured first features in ages.
